This page is dedicated to project DLC-VIT4IP which has been funded by the European Commission under the 7th Framework Programm (FP7).

The focus of this project is Powerline communication which on distribution network is often called Distribution Line Carrier. Both existing broadband and narrowband power-line communication systems do not fulfil the requirements for monitoring and usage control. However, some recent developments concerning high speed narrow band power-line communication systems begin to show potential to fulfil these requirements.

DLC-VIT4IP will design, implement, evaluate, and test a communication infrastructure using the existing power distribution network. This allows the interconnection of sensors and actuators to implement (new) intelligent services for energy consumption observation, energy management and efficiency.
