DLC-VIT4IP: Distribution Line Carrier - Verification, Integration and Test of PLC Technologies and IP Communication for Utilities

A major goal of the project is to create an open solution for DLC communication that enables software in higher communication layers to exchange data in a seamless  way. Achievement of this goal make the project outcomes a valuable foundation for applications and services in the new open electricity markets. Hardware and software solutions are only accepted if all stakeholders are involved. This involvement is the objective of the Technology Interest Group and the Industrial Promotion activities.

The industrial promotion activities is one of the critical activities of the project since end users and other stakeholders must be clearly aware of the potentials and design but also the limitations to efficiently use the project outcomes.

The project consortium is seeking an active participation of stakeholders to have a clear view of their interests and requirements. Within this respect, a key role will be attributed to the ‘Technology Interest Group (TIG)’. This is a forum for industry and end users that might benefit from the efforts done in DLC-VIT4IP. Members of the TIG are not limited to a specific area, but utilities, system integrators, distribution network operators and research institutes are especially invited since their input will be highly valued. There will be a continuous exchange of information to build up a clear view of not only their interests and opinions, but also their specific requirements.

To offer these TIG members dedicated and easy-to-reach information, a restricted area of the website is setup that allows upfront access to otherwise restricted information. This section is also offering research results and standardization proposals prior to formal publication. The assessment of feedback of the TIG will help the authors to account for their views
